September 11th – This afternoon, we’ll have a new Hobie Fishing European Champion. 2019 winner Frédéric Portner was the leader after Hobie Fishing Euros powered by OKUMA Comp Day 1. A total of 195cm with a 51cm Big Black Bass put him atop. Tomaso Sbrana (181cm), Nicola Panareo (181cm), Luca Santenini (181cm) and Jonas Michelberger (180cm) are following him closely.
Similar as yesterday, anglers can submit their 5 biggest Black Bass to the leaderboard. Which they started doing minutes after they passed the Power-Pole Starting line. The media boat was lucky enough to be right where Swedish angler Emil Randemo hooked and landed a 50cm Black Bass! Being it his first time fishing for Black Bass this weekend, he now is hooked for life!
“It is just awesome, to be at a beautiful tournament arena with a stunning view and superb fishing. Many of the competitors joining this event have never fished for Black Bass. Coming here is already a experience for them, but also catching their first, second and many more Black Bass makes it into a memory they’ll cherish forever.” Tournament Director Gero Priebe says. “This event would not have been possible with the tireless help of our organising partner Bolsena Yachting. Federico Botarelli did all of the ground work here in Bolsena and created a experience of a lifetime for all the attendees.”
Competitors need to have their key tag back on the board no later than 3:00PM today. At 12:00PM the leaderboard blacks out for all viewers. It’ll go live right after the awards ceremony which is currently planned at 5:00PM.
